Once you have started the java uploader you should see this window pop up on your screen.

Please follow the following steps and then click the Start button.

  1. Ensure that the 'CD/DVD drive or folder' field is set to the location of your disk. Usually the CD/DVD drive is designated as the 'd' drive as you can see in the image above. If you aren't sure of the letter designation of your CD/DVD drive, click the search folder icon to the right of the input field to locate the drive which contains your disk.
  2. In most cases the 'Temporary file folder' input field will be pre-filled for you. If it is blank, please enter c:\tempSP as we have entered in the image above. The contents of the temporary folder are erased once the upload is completed.
  3. You may click the 'Save my input for future use' checkbox to ensure that the CD/DVD drive and Temporary file folder choices you've made will be automatically filled in for you the next time you run the importer.
  4. 'Enable logging', if checked, will create a log file for diagnostic purposes should something go wrong with the upload process.
  5. There are times when the uploader searches for DICOM images but returns a message "No DICOM files were found". Most of the time this indicates a damaged disk but it is possible that the message is the result of a corrupted file on the disk named DICOMDIR. Checking the 'Ignore DICOMDIR' option will tell the uploader to ignore this file and perform a more thorough, and therefore slower, search of the disk. There is no guarantee that this method will find DICOM images on the disk as the disk may actually be damaged.
