If a Java application, such as the Java Viewer or the CD Uploader, fails to run, consider performing these steps to clear the Java cache. The images in this tutorial are for Windows 10, but the instructions work for Windows 7 as well.
1) Run the Java Control Panel
Click the Windows Start button in the bottom toolbar to the left.
2) Start typing "Configure Java" or just "Java". You should see the Configure Java program link, as shown below. Click "Configure Java" in the menu to run the program.
3) When the Java Control Panel opens, look for "Settings ..." button in the first tab (General) and click that button.
4) The Temporary Files Settings window will open. Click the "Delete Files ..." button.
5) The Delete Files and Applications window will open. Make sure the "Trace and Log Files" and the "Cached Applications and Applets" checkboxes are checked. Then click the "Ok" button. The program will then start clearing the Java cache. This process can take anywhere from a few seconds to a number of minutes, and the Delete Files and Applications window will remain on the screen until the program is finished clearing the cache. At that point, this window will then close.
6) Once the Delete Files and Applications window closes, click the "Ok" button in the Temporary Files Settings window to close it, then click the "Ok" button in the Java Control Panel to close that window. You have now successfully cleared the Java Cache.
