1) To load multiple studies into the viewer at the same time from the SafePACS portal Studies tab, do the following:
A) Instead of clicking the Study ID hyperlink, click the checkbox next to each study you want to load into the viewer. You can also use the checkbox above the studies (yellow arrow below) to select and un-select all of the studies at once.
B) Once you have selected one or more studies, click the WebDCM button above the table (as noted by the red arrow above).
Note: If you select many studies to view at a time, you will be notified that loading too many studies can cause your browser to run out of memory. You can still try to proceed to load the studies you have selected. SafePACS recommends that you use Google Chrome, which generally has better memory handling. Should your browser notify you that it has run out of memory, simply close some tabs in the browser, reload the SafePACS portal page, and try loading fewer studies at a time into the viewer.
C) After the WebDCM viewer opens, you can click the "Study" tab on the left to access each study you have loaded: left-click a study to get to its series; right-click a study if you want to save it to your computer, or remove it from the viewer (this does not remove the study from SafePACS, just the viewer)
2) You can also add more studies to the WebDCM viewer from within the viewer itself, without needing to go back to the studies table in the portal:
A) From within the WebDCM viewer, click the Case Caption button at the upper left (indicated by the red arrow below)
B) A popup dialog box (see image below) will show you the studies you can view for this case. Use the checkboxes to the left of each study to select the studies you want to load, then click the "Load Selected" button at the bottom (you might have to scroll down to see that button). All currently loaded studies will have a checkmark in the selection box already. Click "Close" to close the dialog without loading any studies.
TIP: Inside this dialog box, you can sort the studies by a column by clicking the column title. You can click and drag a column title into the area above the columns ("Drag a column header here to group studies by that column") in order to group study together, such as by Study Date or Study Modality
